1. Registration/Login/Account
1.1 Do I have to register to buy tickets in the VGN Onlineshop or the VGN Fahrplan & Tickets app?
No, registration is not necessary for purchases via the VGN OnlineShop. A guest purchase is also offered. However, payment options in the online shop are limited to PayPal for guest purchases. In the app, Google Pay and Apple Pay are also available.
If you are registered, you can additionally pay by credit card or SEPA direct debit.
1.2 From what age can I register in the VGN Onlineshop?
Registration in the VGN Onlineshop is possible from 16 years of age.
1.3 What is meinVGN?
All details about meinVGN can be found on the VGN website. With your account data, you have the opportunity to use various applications.
1.4 Why can't I log into my account?
Please first check whether your login data is correct. If you have forgotten your password, you can request a new password under meinVGN - forgot your password.
1.5 How can I delete my meinVGN account?
You can delete your meinVGN account under meinVGN - delete account.
2. Ticket Delivery
2.1 What is a PrintTicket? What is a HandyTicket?
PrintTickets must be printed out after purchase.
HandyTickets can be displayed on a mobile device.
You can purchase a HandyTicket in two ways:
In the VGN Onlineshop, select the delivery method “Print ticket or display ticket on mobile”. At the end of the order process, choose “display on mobile phone” – you can then save the ticket on your mobile device.
In the app “VGN Fahrplan & Tickets”, your tickets are automatically saved in the app and can be shown during ticket inspection.
2.2 How much are the shipping costs?
For tickets from the online shop that are to be delivered by post, shipping costs 5 euros. This also includes the processing of your order. We recommend using our digital offer: tickets immediately on your phone or as a PDF, with no additional costs.
3. Subscription (Abo)
3.1 How can I apply for or manage a subscription?
You can order or manage your subscription (Abo) via the MeinAbo-Portal.
4. Ticket Use
4.1 Why are PrintTickets and HandyTickets only valid in connection with an official photo ID?
Since PrintTickets and HandyTickets are generally personal, they are only valid together with an official photo ID. To ensure that these tickets are only used by the authorized person, the name of the person using the ticket is displayed on it. During a ticket inspection, the ticket and an official photo ID (for users under the age of 16 a "Verbundpass Ausbildung" can be used as verification) must be shown.
4.2 Can Print and HandyTickets be purchased for future use?
It depends on the respective ticket.
Single tickets are valid immediately after purchase.
For TagesTickets and Zeitkarten (e.g., weekly or monthly tickets), the validity date can be selected.
Since tickets are excluded from exchange, we recommend purchasing only shortly before use.
4.3 Can Print and Mobile Tickets be purchased for third parties
Yes, in the ordering process of the VGN Onlineshop you can select under “Personalisierung” that “the ticket will be used by another person” and enter the data of the ticket user.
When purchasing via the VGN Fahrplan und Tickets app, you can specify the ticket user under "Who will be traveling with the ticket?".
4.4 Can multiple tickets be purchased at the same time?
Yes, this is possible.
Please note that when buying multiple tickets via the VGN Fahrplan & Tickets app, all tickets are personalized for the same person, i.e., this person must always be present when using the tickets. When purchasing tickets via the VGN Onlineshop, you can personalize the tickets for different persons.
4.5 I bought my ticket on a PC and now want to display it on my smartphone. How do i do that?
Simply log in with a mobile device at shop.vgn.de into your account. Under "Meine Bestellungen" you can see your current or future valid tickets.
In the "VGN Fahrplan & Tickets" app, your valid tickets are automatically found under "Tickets".
Please note: The 365-Euro-Ticket, Schülerwochenkarten and -monatskarten, as well as the Solo 31, which were purchased in the app, can only be displayed there – there is no printable version available.

5.1 For which mobile operating systems is the VGN Fahrplan & Tickets app available?
There are apps for iOS and Android, which you can find in the respective stores.
6. Tickets for Students
6.1 Where can I find information about tickets for students?
All information about tickets for students can be found at http://www.vgn.de/studenten.
7. 365-Euro-Ticket VGN
7.1 How can I buy the ticket for my child?
You can buy the ticket via the VGN Fahrplan & Tickets app, MeinAbo, or at ticket machines.
Purchase in the VGN Fahrplan & Tickets app:
If you have children under 16, please register with your data in the VGN Fahrplan & Tickets app. Then you can add a payment method and complete the purchase. Make sure in the app that the ticket is personalized for your child. Your child can then use the ticket via your account.
For children between 16 and 18 years old, the account can also be opened in the child’s name. In this case, please add credit card, PayPal, Google Pay, or Apple Pay as payment methods.
7.2 How can I purchase the ticket with monthly payment?
You can purchase 365-Euro Tickets with monthly payment via the MeinAbo portal.
7.3 Can one email address be used for multiple personalized 365-Euro Tickets as HandyTickets?
No, personalized 365-Euro-Tickets as HandyTicket with monthly payment can only be used with one email address since the ticket is assigned to one person only. If two personalized 365-Euro-Tickets as HandyTicket are to be used simultaneously, a new email address or an eTicket (chip card) must be used.
8. Payment Processing
8.1 Which payment methods are possible?
In the VGN Onlineshop you can choose between SEPA direct debit, credit card, and PayPal. For purchases via the VGN Fahrplan & Tickets app, iPhone users can additionally pay with Apple Pay and Android users with Google Pay.
8.2 When is the payment amount debited?
For direct debit, the amount is debited once daily. If you make several orders in one day, the total amount will be charged at once.
When paying with credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, the amount is charged per order. That means if you buy several tickets in one day, your account is charged separately for each order.
8.3 Who is LOGPAY Financial Services GmbH?
LOGPAY Financial Services GmbH is our payment service provider responsible for the entire payment processing in the VGN Online Shop and in the VGN Fahrplan & Tickets app.
8.4 How do I get a receipt for my PrintTickets and HandyTickets, for example for tax purposes?
As soon as you are logged into the VGN Online Shop, you can view your previous orders under “Meine Bestellung”. Select the desired period and orders. With the button “Kaufbeleg(e)” you get a PDF with the selected orders.
For tickets purchased via the VGN Fahrplan & Tickets app, you can find the receipt under “Tickets - Tickets/Historie” directly at the respective ticket. There you can open and download it. For guest purchases, please create the receipt immediately after purchase if needed, as receipt creation is only available for a limited time. To do so, long press the ticket and follow the menu.
9. Ticket Inspection
9.1 What happens if I can’t show my valid HandyTicket (e.g., battery dead, broken display, etc.)?
In this case, our ticket inspectors cannot verify if you have a valid ticket. Therefore, you will first receive a warning. Don’t worry, you don’t have to pay a higher fare. Simply come to the contact point of the respective transport company within the period indicated on the notice. There you only pay a small processing fee.

9.2 Do I need internet access to display my ticket during a check?
No, as long as you have purchased your ticket in the app or saved it on your smartphone after purchasing, you do not need internet access.
9.3 When do I have to buy a HandyTicket at the latest?
You need a valid ticket before boarding the vehicle or, in subway stations, before entering the platform.
