Accessibility Statement - VGN Onlineshop

VAG Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft attaches great importance to making its website accessible in accordance with the Bavarian E-Government Ordinance (BayEGovV). This accessibility statement applies to all web pages at https://www.shop.vgn.de.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was created on 7 July 2025. The assessment is based on a test carried out in May 2024.

Status of compliance with the requirements

The accessibility requirements are set out in Sections 3 (1) to (4) and 4 of the Accessibility in Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), which was issued on the basis of Section 12d of the Act on Equal Opportunities of Persons with Disabilities (BGG).

The accessibility of the VAG Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft online shop, which can be accessed at https://www.shop.vgn.de , was tested in an external test based on the Accessibility in Information Technology Ordinance 2.0 and the Bavarian E-Government Ordinance (BayEGovV), taking into account the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.

The website available at https://www.shop.vgn.de s partially compliant with BayEGovV. It fulfils part of the requirements of the BITV 2.0 as well as the criteria of level AA of the WCAG 2.2. The non-accessible contents are listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not yet fully accessible:

  • Alternative texts for control elements as well as for graphics and objects are partially missing or insufficient.
  • Structural elements, such as headings, are not always correctly labelled. This makes it more difficult to navigate using assistive technologies.
  • The order in which content is displayed is not always appropriate for people using screen reader software.
  • Some information is only provided by the use of colours. This can be problematic for people with colour vision deficiencies.
  • The contrast levels of texts and graphic control elements are not always good enough.
  • Content does not always adapt responsively to different screen sizes; pagination does not always take place correctly.
  • The spacing of texts cannot be customised everywhere.
  • The website cannot be fully operated using the keyboard; in particular there is no logical tab sequence.
  • The current position of the keyboard focus is not always clearly recognisable.
  • The view or context may change unexpectedly when data is entered in form fields.
  • Error messages for incorrect or missing entries are not always shown or may not always be easy to understand.
  • Not all form elements are correctly labelled or machine-readable.
  • Reliable status messages (e.g. after submitting a form) are not provided for screen readers.
